PhotoMath is a mobile application that acts as a “Camera Calculator”. Using your phone’s camera, take a photo of a mathematical equation and PhotoMath provides the answer as well as a step-by-step guide of how each problem is solved onscreen. I imagine this app would be an incredibly useful tool for educators, students and parents.

4) Hitlist (available on iOS and Android)

Hitlist’s mission is simple: “help you travel more for less“.  As you add travel destinations to your own personalized travel wish list, Hitlist sends you alerts about the lowest airfare deals available for your selected destinations and timeframe.

The SWEAT app has been referred by users as their own “personal trainer”. It offers programs and workouts that will meet the needs of nearly every type of fitness enthusiast: bodyweight workouts you can do at home, strength workouts with machines at the gym, heavy weights, cardio, yoga, pilates, postpartum programs as well as nutritional plans. The app also gives you access to Kayla Itsines’s BBG program, a 12-week fitness plan that is based on bodyweight exercises you can do at home.

If you’re planning a group trip, you will definitely find this app helpful for keeping everyone organized. Pack This allows you to create a “what to pack” checklist, where you can categorize and tag items to specific travellers in your group. The app also provides a trip countdown clock and keeps everyone up-to-date with the weather in your travel destination. Good news is, if someone in the group doesn’t have the app you can still share the master-list with them by easily exporting the list via email.

  1. I could have done with photomath when I was struggling with maths at school! I may just give duolingo a try to brush up on my Italian.

    1. My thoughts exactly, Andrea. Photomath and the Otter voice notes would have come in pretty handy during my academic career. I’ve been using Duolingo to improve my French for about a year now and I absolutely love it.

    1. My pleasure, Clare. I’ve been using Duolingo to practice my French for about a year (on and off) and I’ve found it quite helpful. They have a desktop version, too incase you don’t want to download the app: http://www.duolingo.com. Great news that your husband is already using Sky Guide and loves it. I’ve been really enjoying it, too! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
